The INSTAP Study Center for East Crete is pleased to announce the availability of one Doctoral fellowship to be awarded on a competitive basis to eligible candidates for work to be done at the Study Center in Pacheia Ammos, Crete in 2010. A minimum of four weeks should be spent working at the Center. The fellowship is intended for scholars in the field of the Aegean Bronze Age/Early Iron Age who are working to complete their PhD Dissertations. The fellowship will be awarded in the amount of $4,000. Applications must be received in the INSTAP Study Center for East Crete office in Philadelphia or by e-mail no later than November 1, 2009, and the award will be announced by December 15, 2009.
In addition to the completed application form, proposals should include a curriculum vitae of the applicant, a copy of their Dissertation Proposal, an outline of the Dissertation, and two letters of support, one from the head of your Dissertation Committee, and another from an additional member of your Committee. It is assumed that the applicant will have passed his or her Doctoral Examinations, and have a Dissertation Proposal that has been approved by his or her Department.

Consideration for the fellowships is open to all candidates meeting the stated requirements. Awards are made irrespective of race, gender, religion, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, and actual or perceived medical conditions. It is possible that in the absence of qualified candidates with appropriate projects, a fellowship will not be awarded.
